Dear participants,

On behalf of the Board of the GEM Network, welcome to the annual World Mission Institute and Certificate Program to be held on the campus of the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas on June 17-18. The Certificate Program begins on June 16. Below you
find some logistical information.

First, we have received your registration. If there is a balance owing please bring a check with you.

If you are flying into the Austin Airport, we have made arrangements with SuperShuttle to provide a $1.00 discount each way. After retrieving your luggage go to the SuperShuttle counter in the airport and present one of the GEM coupons. (Coupons included in a recent email to all conference registrants.)You do not need a reservation, but will have to call them to reserve a pick up for your return. (512) 929-3900. SuperShuttle will pick you up at the Concordia Dorm or at the seminary.

Tell them you are part of the GEM group, and to take you to 606 Rathervue Place, Austin, TX 78705. When you arrive at the seminary, follow the signs to the registration area. Come to the seminary first
and register. There you will receive the keys to your dorm room, and we will shuttle you and your luggage to the Concordia dorm. Sue Wood will staff the registration desk. If you should encounter
difficulties, her cell phone number is (316) 393-5401. You cannot enter the dorm without first checking in with Sue, and getting your room key.

If you are driving, come to the seminary first. If you plan to stay at a hotel, you may check in before the first event.

The Concordia dorms are located approximately ½ mile from the seminary campus. The walk is primarily through a residential area down a hill, across a busy street, and up another hill. We have rented a mini van and will try to provide transportation for those who may be challenged or would prefer not to walk.

The dorm is a high rise building with elevators. There are four single roomslocated off a small living room, and two shared bathrooms. On each floorthere is a large meeting room, and a large lounge on the ground floor. A breakfast cart will be available in the lounge on the mornings of June 17 & 18.

There a limited number of rooms available at the seminary. There is, however, only one handicap accessible room available. The others may require going up a flight of stairs. We will provide our speakers with rooms in the seminary, and other rooms may available. If staying in the Concordia dorms will prove a challenge for you, please let us know. We will attempt to accommodate your needs in seminary housing. Please fill in the response form below and return it to Sue Wood at
gemconference04@hotmail.com

Meals provided are the two breakfasts for those staying in the dorm and lunch and dinner on June 17 & 18. The lunches and dinners will be served in the seminary dinning hall. If you arrive early or stay later, all other meals are on your own. The Certificate Program participants will dine together on Wednesday. We will provide a list of nearby restaurants. Concordia University does not permit the consumption of alcoholic beverages on their campus, including the dorm rooms. ETSS permits only beer and wine.

Although there are no refunds for meals not taken, we know that those who are preparing the food want to know how many to prepare for, thus we would ask everyone to fill in the response form below and e-mail it to Sue Wood. Reply to this address: gemconference04@hotmail.com

If you are planning on arriving early such as for the Board Meeting or Certificate Program or are planning to stay for a few days, please let us. Your conference fee will cover Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, June 16-18.

If you are a diocesan GEM representative, please bring with you 60 copies of a report describing the mission activities of your diocese. GEM can not be responsible for duplicating these reports in Austin.
