Veteran seminary administrator to oversee communication, marketing and branding

Nancy Springer-Baldwin has accepted the newly-created position of Executive Director of Communication and Branding at the Seminary of the Southwest.

A 1986 graduate of the seminary, Springer-Baldwin returned to campus in 1993 as Director of Development. Since then the seminary has successfully conducted three capital campaigns – for the construction of the Marta Weeks Campus Center , the “Making All Things New” effort that bolstered endowment and renovated the Durstan R McDonald Faculty and Education Building and the administrative office expansion of the Scott Field Bailey Center at Rather House.

“I am grateful to Nancy for considering and accepting this new and important position and ask that you join me in thanking her for continuing her faithful service to the seminary,” said the Very Rev. Douglas Travis, Dean and President. “ Nancy will be responsible for the creation and implementation of comprehensive internal and external communication plans as well as a strategic marketing plan.  She will manage seminary-wide communication to all internal and external constituents,” Dean Travis said.

” Nancy brings to this new position an invaluable knowledge of the institution and its past, high-level communication skills, sound judgment, creativity and absolute discretion. In addition, her vision for the seminary¹s future ultimately resulted in my decision to seek outside expertise to lead the seminary in the branding process – examining its message in words and images to its constituents in order to hone that message for optimum communication,” he said.

Nancy begins her new duties on August 4 following an extended vacation.
