Library Mission Statement
The Booher Library maintains and develops collections and services in support of the present and future teaching and research needs of the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest, and the church as a whole. We provide highly qualified professional staff, who, using resources in a variety of media, offer counseling on the best ways to find needed information. We support the seminaries and the church by connecting information seekers with sources to meet their needs.

Our Library Staff

Our Director
Dr. Donald E. Keeney has joined the community of the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest as director of its Booher Library.

Keeney cames to the seminary in early January 2007 after being director of libraries in metropolitan New York City, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Kansas City, Kansas. With 17 years experience in academic libraries, Keeney was most recently interim director of the Curry Library at William Jewell College.

Experienced with the use of electronic technology and setting up online library systems, Keeney has written numerous book and electronic materials reviews for the Clergy Journal publication - a work shared with spouse Rachel, an editor. He has also written articles and reviews for biblical and librarian journals.

Keeney earned the bachelor's in biblical studies and the master's in theological studies from Wheaton College, the master's in divinity and doctorate in New Testament degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the master of science in library service degree from Columbia University.

Proficient in Koine Greek, Biblical Hebrew, German and French, Keeney taught library research methodology and language coursework at Central Baptist Theological Seminary for eight years. He is a member of the Association of College and Research Libraries, the Society of Biblical Literature and the American Theological Library Association. He is convenor of the latter association's Baptist Denominational group.
