This is the most comprehensive database tutorial to date. It covers the ATLAS Index and EBSCO Databases, A to Z Journal Service, and the Electronic Journal Service. Refer to the tutorials that follow for specific how-to-do answers.

This tutorial tells you how to get started using the online databases. It shows how to navigate form the ETSS Web site to the Database & Resources page. Here you will be presented with various database options, including the extensive ATLAS Index and EBSCO Databases.

One of the greatess difficulties faced by many researchers during a search is getting to the desired results. This tutorial demonstrates how to use Boolean Operators to either limit or expand a search. It also presents a number of other methods that can be used for limiting and expanding searches.

The Basic Search is the default search window for the EBSCOhost databases. This tutorial serves as a good introduction for anyone beginning a basic search. It includes information on limiters and expanders that are built into these database structures.

This tutorial is essential for anyone doing complicated searches. The Advanced Search allows the researcher to query different types and very specific forms of information.

The Visual Search is a relatively new option offered by EBSCOhost. It allows the visual learner to see their results in geometric symbols. These can then be narrowed down to the actual articles that are desired.

Whatever search method is used, at some point you will have results that you would like to use. This tutorial explains what to do when you get to this point. It includes formatting abstracts for inclusion in bibliographic citing as well as saving your results to use at another time.

The A to Z Journals database should be the first stop when beginning a search. It serves as a portal to all of the journals from all the databases to which we subscribe. In an instant the user knows exactly what is available. Then just as easy, the hyperlinks send you to where you need to go for further information.

Many of our EBSCO journal subscriptions come with electronic access. The Electronic Journal Service is the link to these journals. This tutorial demonstrates how the EJS works and what type of results to expect from this service.
